What is Acadepic?
Acadepic is an online learning platform aiming to create independent learners from wherever and whenever they feel most comfortable to learn.
EVERY lesson includes the 3 crucial elements for learning:
👩🏫 Teach - Each lesson starts with a video explanation to teach the subject of that lesson. This helps students to get an understanding of mathematical methods they should use before they go on to their "apply" stage.
📝 Apply - This is where students will apply the knowledge learnt in the first stage by completing a whole task based around the lesson's objective. This is their chance to show their understanding.
👏 Consolidation - This final stage is where students are able to consolidate their learning. They will have access to a teacher led explanation of the task they completed showing all methodology to allow them to either learn from errors they made or build confidence that they have completed the lesson correctly.
How is Acadepic different?
Acadepic's "Consolidation Stage" is what separates us from other learning platforms. This stage includes a teacher guided video demonstration of the task completed and has a focus on method for EVERY QUESTION, allowing students to compare their own methods with the teacher explanation. If the student got their answer wrong then they can learn at which stage they made the mistake and improve for next time but if they were correct then they can compare to see if they followed the exact same method taught by the teacher.
Who is Acadepic for?
Acadepic currently covers maths content aimed towards Year 6 SATS and Year 7/8 transition. We understand that everyone learns at their own pace (which is why Acadepic was started in the first place) so this is why we don't specify an age but rather a stage in learning to allow you to decide if Acadepic is the right fit.
Acadepic also covers content for the Level 1 Functional skills accreditation in the UK so would also be useful to adults taking this course.
